Booking Conditions

Rancho La Puerta is located in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico, and is operated in accordance with Mexican laws and regulations by a Mexican Corporation, Indotel, S. de R.L. de C.V. In order to comply with Mexican Immigration laws, you will need to travel with a valid passport and obtain an FMM form with Mexican Immigration.

Program Details

Our standard program is Saturday to Saturday. Any stays less than the week are handled on a space available basis and would follow a Saturday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday pattern. Promotions are only applicable to 7-night stays. Rates include three meals a day plus snacks and beverages (not including items from Bazar del Sol or Tierra Alegre), over 40 different classes a day, use of fitness facilities (four pools, saunas, jacuzzies, steam rooms, weight room, etc.), evening programs and lectures from world-renowned experts, and scheduled transportation to and from the San Diego International Airport on Saturdays. Midweek transportation, spa services, cooking classes, and private sessions are a la carte.

Rates and Booking Confirmation

There is never a service charge. All rates showing are based on the standard rates and do not include any applicable promotions. Tax is 17.65% and is subject to change. All guests are sent a confirmation by email once the reservation is confirmed with the deposit. For those booking online, you will be contacted after you submit your online reservation to finalize any details (i.e. available promotions, adding roommates, etc.). Due to the uniqueness of our property, we can only gather the name and deposit of one of the guests in the party.

Payment Information

All reservations require a $500 deposit, per person. The balance on your reservation will be automatically charged approximately 30 days prior to arrival. We accept all major credit cards and must connect soon after this booking is made to gather the card details for the balance. All payments through this website are processed in accordance with United States Card Brand rules and regulations.

Medical, Environmental, and Dietary Considerations

The facilities are scattered over many acres. It is not appropriate for persons with sight or walking problems. Guests are required to walk on hilly, uneven pathways to and from their room to the main Dining Hall, to gyms and other locations within the Ranch. Guest participation in the Ranch’s numerous programs and classes is entirely voluntary and at the risk of the guest. Guests are expected to use their own judgment concerning their ability to participate in any of the activities. If you know or suspect that you have a medical condition or physical limitation that may prevent you from fully participating in Ranch activities or a vigorous fitness program, consult a physician in advance of your visit. The nearest US hospital is approximately one hour from the Rancho La Puerta.

We follow a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet. We do not serve meat. We do serve seafood occasionally throughout the week. It is important to discuss with us in advance any dietary restrictions or special diets to ensure we are able to accommodate your needs.

Age Restrictions

We accommodate guests ages 14 and up. The only time children under the age of 14 can participate in our program is during our annual Family Week which falls either the last week of July or first week of August.

Smoke-free Environment

Rancho La Puerta is a Wellness Resort and therefore smoking is prohibited on the grounds and in the rooms. All guests who must smoke will be asked to do so outside of the main gate.

Electronic Communication

In order to respect the tranquility of The Ranch, the use of cell phones and other electronic devices is limited to certain areas on the property. Our rooms, with the exception of Villa Cielo, do not have WiFi. We do have hotspots located throughout the Ranch property.

Check In/Out Policy

Check In is after 2:00pm and Check Out is at 11:00am. You are welcome to arrive earlier and begin taking advantage of the facilities, however, the room cannot be guaranteed until 3:00pm. Breakfast and lunch are included on your check out day and you can stay on property until 2:30pm that day but you must check out of the room at 11:00am.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact us directly either by email (reservations@rancholapuerta.com) or by phone (1-800-443-7565). The cancellation policy shown below is per person, per week.

Standard Policy (No Cancellation Fee Waiver)*

  • More than 30 days’ notice: $500 deposit held on account for one year towards a future visit.
  • 29 to 15 days’ notice: $500 cancel fee per person, per week. Balance Refunded.
  • 14 Days or less: $1,000 cancel fee per person, per week; Balance held on account for one year towards a future visit.
  • Day of arrival: Full amount forfeited.

With Cancellation Fee Waiver (Cost = $100 at time of deposit)*

  • More than 30 days’ notice: $500 deposit is refundable.
  • 29 to 15 days’ notice: $250 cancel fee per person, per week. Balance Refunded.
  • 14 Days or less: $500 cancel fee, per person. Balance held on account for one year towards a future visit.
  • Day of arrival cancellation: 50% of payment will be forfeited; The remaining 50% will be held on account for one year towards a future visit

There are no refunds for those who arrive late or depart early.

Date Changes

You are welcome to change your dates with more than 30 days’ notice with no penalty. A date change made within 30 days of the arrival date is subject to the cancellation fees mentioned below. Please keep in mind that some discounts do not carry over and your rate may change.

Within Same Calendar Year

  • More than 30 days’ notice: Unlimited; No date change fee.
  • 29 to 15 days’ notice: No date change fee.
  • 14 Days or less: $250 date change fee; Balance held on account for one year towards a future visit.
  • Day of arrival: $1,000 cancel fee; The remaining balance will be held on account for a visit in the same calendar year

Not Within Same Calendar Year

  • More than 30 days’ notice: Unlimited; No date change fee (Discounts do not carry over).
  • 29 to 15 days’ notice: $250 date change fee (Discounts do not carry over).
  • 14 Days or less: $500 date change fee; Balance held on account for one year towards a future visit (Discounts do not carry over).
  • Day of arrival: 50% of payment will be forfeited; The remaining 50% will be held on account for one year towards a future visit

There are no refunds for those who arrive late or depart early.

Scheduled Transportation

We provide scheduled transportation on Saturdays only from the San Diego International Airport. We pick up in Terminal 1. Guests who land in the Commuter Terminal & Terminal 2 will need to meet us in Terminal 1. Our scheduled busses from the airport to Rancho La Puerta are at 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:15pm, and 2:45pm. If your flight is landing the same day, please be sure to land at least 45 minutes in advance of one of the scheduled departures so that you have time to claim your luggage and check in with our representative. Busses cannot be held for late arrivals and depart promptly. From Rancho La Puerta to the airport, our busses depart at 7:45am, 10:00am, 12:15pm, and 2:30pm. Please allow 4 hours between the departure time from The Ranch and the flight departure time to ensure you have enough time for crossing the border. A reservation is required for the scheduled transportation.

Pet Policy

While we have a fond relationship with animals and nature, we are unable to accept pets on property.

Renovations

Each we continue to enhance our programs and facilities to fulfill our mission since 1940: a constant quest of siempre mejor (always better). Our renovations and initiatives to improve may overlap with your visit. All efforts have been taken to minimize any inconvenience to your week of relaxation.

Complaints

All complaints should be brought to our attention as it is important for us that we resolve them in a timely fashion. You are welcome to direct your complaint to reservations@rancholapuerta.com, Attn: Reservations Manager.

Privacy Policy

We respect our guest’s privacy and will never share your personal information with anyone. Your reservation will only be discussed with the person who paid for the booking and anyone sharing the room.
